Case study – Mr. Smith

“One of my clients, Mr Smith, could not sleep after 2am every night for nearly five months as he was launching a new product for his business and there was anxiety associated with the launch, suppliers, resources and team, in addition to worry about the success of the product and all the financial investment.

He was under the impression that this lack of sleep was normal and it would pass away. However, without realising it, this soon became the new routine for him, and his body was responding to this stress with excessive sleepiness in the afternoons. He was reaching for more sugary snacks to keep up with constant hunger and literally being fuelled by 5 – 6 cups of coffee in a day or sometimes even more.

Mr Smith knew something needed to be changed as his doctor had recently diagnosed him with pre-diabetes, and knowing the complications of diabetes he was determined to create a positive shift in his mind and lifestyle.

We focused only on one change for the initial month: getting good quality sleep!
